My working languages are American Sign Language and English, and I am conversant in International Sign. I am also an interpreter educator.

My research on how the discursive choices of interpreters affect listeners’ understanding of the situated identity of interpreted speakers has been published by Gallaudet University Press and IATIS Routeledge.

We all understand access to communication is a social justice issue. Interpretation by communicatively competent practitioners is a social justice issue. Systemic control of communication often creates barriers to participation in the daily interactions that affect our lives.
