I am an associate professor and researcher at the Universidad de La Serena, Chile. With the support of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development, I have studied the production of texts in legal and medical contexts. I obtained my master’s in applied linguistics (2009) and PhD in linguistics (2014) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile). In my postdoctoral research (2017), I investigated how authors position themselves strategically in scientific research articles.
