I am a researcher in theoretical and applied linguistics at the University of Cambridge, focusing on translation policies of minoritized languages. I hold undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in translation (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Universitat d’Alacant) and applied Spanish linguistics (Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo and Instituto Cervantes).

I have held various academic positions in France (Rouen), the United Kingdom (Heriot-Watt, Sheffield and Open University) and the United States, where I was a lecturer in Spanish at the University of California, Los Angeles prior to joining Cambridge. In 2018, I was appointed Assessor in Spanish Translation by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Cambridge.

I have extensive experience in higher education teaching and research. My research interests lie in the fields of translation policy, minoritized languages and legal translation and interpreting.

At the moment, I serve on the editorial boards of the International Journal for the Semiotics of Law (Springer) and the Journal of Language and Law.
