I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a dual B.A. in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, Plan II Honors and a minor in Arabic. I have been working with migrant communities from the Middle East and Latin America since 2016 in Greece, the U.S. (Texas), Lebanon and Spain.

My research interests lie in the intersection of migration and language access within humanitarian efforts. This work is rooted in migrant justice and language justice movements. My undergraduate thesis, Lost in Translation: Interpretation as a Barrier to Asylum in Texas Immigration Courts examined these topics through community based research regarding the English-Spanish interpretation services in Texas. My own experience as a community interpreter for NGOs and Legal Clinics informed this research and my interest.

I am currently in the process of publishing my thesis and exploring further research opportunities to continue to draw attention to the importance of language justice for those who migrate.
